Vice President of Safety, United Road
Justin Copeland is the Vice President of Safety at United Road, where he has spent the past five years leading initiatives to enhance fleet safety, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver comprehensive training programs for drivers, staff, and technicians. With nearly 22 years of experience in the trucking industry, Justin began his career as a professional driver, spending his first nine years on the road.
Over the years, he has held key roles in Operations, Recruiting, and Safety. Since discovering his passion for safety in 2011, he has progressed through leadership positions including Regional Safety Manager, Environmental Health & Safety Manager, Director of Safety, and Senior Director of Safety.
A strong advocate for fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement, Justin believes every team member plays a critical role in maintaining a safe working environment. He is an active member of the American Trucking Associations (ATA) Safety Management Council, where he serves as a committee Vice Chairman, and is a proud member of the 2025 LEAD ATA class.
Outside of work, Justin enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and attending sporting events—especially University of Michigan football games.
